Vibration Monitoring Overview for Skilled Trades


Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to give an overview of vibration monitoring. It is tailored to skilled trades people who may work with the vibration group or who may need to understand what they do in order to make the most effective repairs.

Objectives:
At the completion of this course, the student who actively participates will:

  • Learn what vibration monitoring can and cannot do.
  • Learn the principles behind predictive maintenance
  • Learn the basic language of vibration monitoring and analysis
  • Learn how, where and when data is collected.
  • Select appropriate actions to take based on the results of monitoring.
  • Consider several ways to initiate action and track the results on monitoring.
  • Discuss the first six months of a program.
  • Discuss how they can contribute to the success of the vibration monitoring program


Description:
This is a hands-on demonstration of vibration monitoring. Participant will actually use vibration-monitoring equipment and software to collect data. They?ll then interpret that data and decide on the appropriate actions to take. Participant input and discussion is encouraged for maximum learning.
