Ultrasonic Leak Detection

Purpose:
This course is designed to teach personnel the proper techniques to find leaks in compressed gas systems and vacuum systems using an ultrasonic leak detector.

Objectives:
At the completion of this course, the student who actively participates will:

  • Be able to explain what ultrasound is
  • Operation the ultrasonic instrument
  • Practice basic Scanning Techniques
  • Adjust the instrument as the background changes and a potential leak is detected
  • Be able to isolate a leak
  • Overcome background noise
  • Have performed an actual survey in an area of known leaks.


Description:
This is a hands-on course. Participants will use their plants leak detector to detect, isolate and tag leaks in compressed gas systems, vacuum systems, steam systems, etc.
