Introduction to Predictive Maintenance

Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to give operational management an introduction to the methodologies and technologies of Predictive Maintenance. The emphasis is from a management perspective rather than a technical perspective.

  • The major condition assessment technologies
  • Main steps in establishing a program



Description:
The course begins with a description of the different maintenance strategies that can be applied to and individual machine or to a plant. These strategies lead to the application of condition assessment and the use of that information to drive the maintenance actions. Next the most common condition assessment technologies are described, including applicability and resource requirements. As a final wrap-up, ways to integrate the technologies together and with the rest of the maintenance program are discussed.
